The Project Coordinator works within the Custom Engineering Group. This position assists the Group Manager and Customs Team in support of the flow of Custom Engineering Group requests. The Project Coordinator receives requests from the field for custom surgical instruments, reviews and evaluates the requested instrument with field personnel and develops a project plan for instrument creation. Core duties include preparing and managing required documents, maintaining accurate records of same, facilitating internal and external communications and transactions, and shipping completed products to end users. Direct interface with Product Development, Logistics, and Field Sales will be a daily requirement. Frequent surgeon interaction is required. This position requires strong self-starting qualities to independently manage coordination of multiple projects to ensure timely completion of product development and delivery. The job also requires the individual to be a team player with the ability to function well in a challenging and fast- paced environment. Must be enthusiastic, positive, even tempered and have strong skills in areas of organization, dependability, interpersonal relationships, communication, flexibility and maturity.
Daily development of project plans for multiple projects , balancing immediate problem solving needs with long term team and company goals
Daily communication with Field Sales regarding project updates, request acknowledgment, and shipping arrangements
Frequent communication with co-workers in all phases of project execution
Initiate and complete required documentation for all projects, maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic and hard-copy records
Photograph finished projects and manage electronic and hard-copy records of photographs
Assist with inventory management , internal inventory requests, and internal transactions
Communicate with other departments as necessary to provide work updates and obtain needed information
Ship completed instrument(s) to requestor, actively seek feedback as appropriate
Assist team members and independently manage projects and reports as needed
Participation to ensure that all work is consistent with in-house quality system
Interact with surgeon visitors to facilitate custom instrument requests
B.S. or B.A Degree
3+ years professional work experience; preferably in a manufacturing, medical, engineering, or related field.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word.
Polished written and verbal communications skills
Proven project management and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with basic hand tools and measurement devices helpful but not required.
Familiarity with manufacturing and medical terminology helpful but not required.
Strong attention to detail and self- starting and self-motivated skills/ability.
Must be fully capable of quality work with little or no supervision.
Ability to function well in fast paced environment. Multi-tasking abilities required for successful job completion.
Well organized, good communicator and team player capable of meeting deadlines.
Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
