About the Job
We are seeking a Project Engineer interested in energy efficiency, energy management, sustainability, and green buildings applications for our Chandler, AZ office. Successful candidates will be responsible for technical engineering and sustainability support of Nexant?s Demand Management practice. Specific responsibilities will include: performing energy sustainability services for utility and end-use clients, reviewing custom energy efficiency and retro-commissioning projects, conducting onsite field inspections, installing field monitoring equipment, conducting investment grade audits, and other related tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct energy audits of commercial and industrial facilities to identify energy efficiency, load control, and distributed generation opportunities
Conduct site inspections to verify installation and operation of affected equipment, controls and processes
Coordinated with clients and contractors help maintain timeline of the energy efficiency projects
Perform and review energy savings calculations
Conduct measurement and verification tasks as warranted
Write reports to summarize results and to recommend savings amounts and incentive payments to clients and contractors
Meet with clients to present results, and develop new scopes of work
Qualifications
Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, sustainable building practices, or similar
2-4 years of experience within the energy efficiency or building efficiency industry.
Through understanding of building systems (particularly HVAC equipment including chillers) and/or industrial process equipment.
Experience with building management system (BMS), central plant control systems and data loggers is required
Excellent writing, interpersonal, and analytical skills
Must be highly proficient in MS Office Word and Excel
P.E. and C.E.M. (or on track to receive) certification is desirable
Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and control systems is a plus
Experience in energy modeling is a plus
