Developing FE (finite element) models for analysis and optimization in collaboration with a small team of multi-disciplinary engineers; Performing linear and non-linear analysis on a range of structural components (i.e. seat belt anchorages, tie downs) to subsystems (suspension subframes), to complete BIW (body-in-white); Delivering optimized designs that satisfy FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard) requirements; Managing model versioning and alignment with CAD (computer-aided-design); Documenting analysis; Supporting Body Engineering in ensuring the design is feasible for manufacturing, assembly, and service processes; and, Providing input in the creation of component specification, component DFMEA (design failure modes and effects analysis), and other technical design documents where analysis plays a central role.
Job Requirements: Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or foreign equivalent and 6 months of experience in the job offered or in mechanical engineering
Special Requirements: Requires experience in: 1. CAE development; 2. CAD design; and, 3. Structural analysis
