Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned professional with significant project management experience, strong technical skills and proven managerial success to lead our PMO office. This position will be the key liaison between account/business management/sales and R&D globally. From an externally facing perspective, the Head of the PMO office will work closely with clients, focusing on gathering business requirements and managing projects. Internally the role will require coordination with regional sales and senior management to maintain a list of enhancements and facilitate prioritization.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Establish the development schedule of the company
Work with Business/Product Managers and Sales Management globally to define business priorities and scope of changes for our product lines, including calculating the cost of new features
Manage the software development lifecycle process, including optimizing the allocation of resources and monitoring development?s delivery dates, acting as a guardian of the delivery dates
Act as a facilitator to reduce discrepancies between business objectives and development deliveries
Coordinate Infrastructure and QA resources as needed during the release cycle
Facilitate regular meetings between development and business teams to provide status updates, resolve project-related issues and manage risk
Measure performance of the development group
Measure the performance of development efforts and provide supporting metrics to allow developers evaluation by Development management and general management (delays, redos, bugs)
Implement and automate a process to track progress and allow for evaluation of developments? work by the business
Regularly report project status to management and project teams
Publish performance reports on a quarterly basis and identify areas of improvement
Specification management
Ensure business and functional specs are well-written and in line with business reality and objectives to allow developers to develop technical specs of quality
Coordinate with the businesses re spec writing and write them when necessary
Client implementation
For large implementation of client projects, lay out the plan for delivery including: analysis of the gaps to be developed, connectivity to be achieved and estimate the work and the resources adequate to ensure good delivery with project managers and services
Preferred Skills:
Qualifications and Experience:
10-15 years of Project Management experience, demonstrating success in creating project plans and managing scope/dates/budget while delivering a quality product
Complete understanding of trading workflows in the front and middle office
Knowledge of electronic trading and market structures
Trading vendor experience
Proven ability to interface with business and technology teams
Demonstrated success working in a highly dynamic environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Proven success in establishing credibility with various stakeholders
Detail oriented and a team player
Analytical mind set and solid problem solver, able to act as facilitator
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Prior experience working with developers in a project management or business analysis capacity
Experience with JIRA and Confluence
Hands on experience with FIX, Market and Referential Data
Good market knowledge in one or more of the following: Foreign Exchange, Listed Derivatives, Equities and/or Fixed Income
Fluent in English. Another language is a great plus
B.S. Degree with Major in Financial Markets/Economics.
