EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: EXEMPT REPORTS TO: Technical Director
JOB CODE: LOCATION: Seattle, WA
GENERAL PURPOSE: The Agile Project Manager will help engineering teams perform at their
highest level by facilitating meetings, working on product backlog grooming and removing impediments.
This role will serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical departments, and communicates with
other management, engineers, product managers, and technical support specialists on product issues.
? Identify and remove impediments and prevent distractions from the software development
? Support the Product Owner by assisting with backlog grooming and maintenance
? Help to ensure the engineering teams are practicing Agile values and procedures
? Facilitate project planning, daily stand-up, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning,
demos, and other Agile related
? Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress with Management
? Proactively participate in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices
? Assist in maintaining process documentation
? Help empower the engineering teams to self-organize through coaching and mentoring
? Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS: This position reports to the Technical Director and will interact
with all levels of internal and external contacts.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
? Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant education and experience
? Must be a Certified Scrum Master with 1+ years of project management experience
? Understand basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures
? Working knowledge of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user story, and task
? Knowledge of other Agile methodologies such as XP, Kanban, FDD, Crystal, etc
? Working knowledge of the iterative development process
? Experience managing Atlassian?s suite of software including Confluence, Jira, GreenHopper, and
? Must possess the self-confidence to be assertive when taking a position and to constructively
resolve conflicts as they occur.
? Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types
? Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS: Office and field environment. Some travel may be required
domestically and internationally. Extensive computer work.
