The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to deadlines. This includes managing resources and coordinating the efforts of team members in order to deliver projects according to plan. This key individual will provide project/product management, serve as the primary contact for stakeholders on Volusion initiatives, responsible for following systematic project management protocols and practices while managing initiatives from planning to implementation, to monitor the progress of both large and small scale projects, and primarily manage rapid-response type projects.
Requires accurate and timely information for the assigned business units, accomplished through understanding the unit's operations, objectives, goals, key business issues and priorities
Coordinates priorities, schedules, plans, and necessary resources to ensure completion of projects on schedule and according to specification.
Manage communication between all stakeholders to ensure everyone is informed of status and progress of projects.
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and devise contingency plans.
Track project milestones and deliverables.
Demonstrate an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and act independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
Conduct project post mortems and create recommendations in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
6+ years of experience in managing projects in a technical environment, preferably software related
Exceptional organization and communication skills
Able to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
Able to make decisions in a timely manner.
Strong mediation skills to facilitate a constructive approach to dealing with conflict.
Strong business acumen and service orientation.
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word is a must.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: College degree or equivalent work experience.
