As part of the Professional Services organization, the role of the Project Manager is to successfully plan and execute customer-facing projects. This includes managing resources and coordinating the efforts of multi-department team members in order to deliver projects according to plan. This individual will serve as the primary contact for customers during the deployment of enterprise solutions and will be responsible for following project management best practices in planning, executing, and monitoring the progress of both large and small scale projects.
Be a representative of the customer within Volusion to ensure that the project?s goals and deliverables always meet the customer?s expectations.
Coordinate with Volusion stakeholders across different business units such as Product, Design Services and Business Development. Requires a keen understanding of the various unit's operations, objectives, goals, key business issues and priorities.
Coordinates priorities, schedules, plans, and necessary resources to ensure completion of projects on schedule, budget and according to specification.
Manage communication between all stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure everyone is informed of status and progress of projects.
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and devise contingency plans.
Track project milestones and deliverables.
Demonstrate an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and act independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
Conduct project post mortems and create recommendations in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
6+ years of experience in managing projects or programs in a technical environment, preferably software related
Experience managing customer-facing projects
Exceptional organization and communication skills
Able to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external.
Able to make decisions in a timely manner.
Strong mediation skills to facilitate a constructive approach to dealing with conflict.
Strong business acumen and service orientation.
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Experience managing projects using various methodologies (i.e. Agile and Waterfall)
Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word is a must.
PMP or Agile certifications a plus.
College degree or equivalent work experience.
