About the Job
We are currently seeking a project manager in the Demand Management business unit for Nexant?s Wheaton, IL, office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing demand side management and electrical generation programs for commercial, industrial, and utility clients. Our clients include public agencies, investor-owned utilities administering ratepayer-funded energy efficiency programs, energy end users, and energy service companies. Successful candidates must demonstrate ability to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position. We are looking for an exceptional person who enjoys working in a challenging and innovative environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage one to five full time staff
Manage programs related to energy utilization including strategic planning, client relationships, proposal preparation, and project management
Manage day to day aspects of projects including quality of work product, client communications, budget, schedule, and directing technical staff
Maintain quality control of all deliverable products, demonstrating technical excellence, objectivity, and clarity while maintaining project schedules
Meet with clients to co-manage projects, present results, and develop new scopes of work
Support the development of new business opportunities and relationships
Meet overall budget and profitability targets
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of professional working experience within the energy efficiency or any engineering-related industry
Bachelor or Master's degree in mechanical, architectural, electrical, or civil engineering is strongly preferred
Project management experience is required
An understanding of building systems (particularly HVAC), thermodynamics, and heat transfer
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and work with technical staff
Excellent writing, interpersonal, presentation, and analytical skills
