Description
The project manager at Dotomi works with the engineering and other teams to facilitate project deliveries. The focus is primarily on cross team and/or cross delivery cycle initiatives. The scope and responsibilities vary depending on the assignment and key to success is the ability to be adaptable and keep communication lines open. The team focuses on high priority goals that impact Dotomi operations and keeps the organization focused on working towards achievement of these goals.
Responsibilities include:
? Responsibility for managing cross impacts and long term planning across teams and delivery cycles for realization of final goals.
? Work with sponsors to plan and implement project delivery. Keep track of shifting scope/timelines and inform appropriate stakeholders. Ensure project requirements are clearly defined and understood by all team members. Document and communicate any relevant technical or business decisions.
? Work with engineering teams to determine sizing estimates and implementation plans. Identify required resources and dependencies, assign individual responsibilities and hold teams accountable.
? Coordinate testing and deployment as needed. Inform operational teams of changes/impacts in a timely manner.
? Prepare metrics for predicting, tracking and scoring development team and processes.
? Technical writing skills a huge plus but not mandatory.
? Work with third party vendors as needed on strategic projects.
Essential Job Functions
? Motivated self starter with strong interpersonal skills. Able to elicit cooperation from a variety of resources.
? Ability to define scope of change requests and work with IT Teams to size and plan delivery.
? Ability to coach development team on scoping work for delivery cycles appropriately and control scope creep.
? Ability to work with a diverse team and adapt communication styles and message content to appropriate audiences. Effective communication skills to mediate disputes and uncover hidden objections or concerns.
? Ability to adapt able to unexpected setbacks and have a game plan for when things go wrong.
? Ability to anticipate problems and resolve them before they happen.
? Adaptable to a flexible process structure based and comfortable with a startup and/or high growth environment where individuals sometimes serve in multiple roles.
? Experience with JIRA/Greenhopper in a software development setting.
? Background in an internet advertising and or a familiarity with web analytics.
? Robust understanding of internet applications, intranets, extranets, applicable project management, bug and resource tracking software and team collaboration platforms.
? Solid technical background with application programming, database and system design.
? Excellent written and oral communication skills.
