PROJECT MANAGER - Implementation Switchfly
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance of the Manager, Project Management, oversee a small to medium project or phase(s) of a larger project. Responsible for all aspects of the project during the entire project life (initiate, plan, execute, control, close). Must be familiar with the software development life cycle, system scope, and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.
Take ownership of and drive the process, planning, and coordination necessary to implement in our high-volume production environment.
Participate in the overall planning, architecture, deployment, and support processes of a secure world-class web-hosting infrastructure.
Work closely with business, product, and technical experts at all levels and across all Switchfly teams to implement new features, functionality, and systems.
Facilitate the translation of the various teams? development and business requirements into technical solutions that meet the client needs of functional excellence, security, scalability, and reliability.
Identify and manage issues and risks; track project dependencies and milestones; document and communicate project plans and overall project status; ensure that technical team members execute upon their deliverables; and keep projects on schedule and within scope and budget.
Simultaneously manage multiple projects ranging from small single release enhancements to large, high-profile, cross-team multi-client international initiatives.
Conduct meetings and interact regularly with large groups of cross-functional players.
Engage as primary coordinator during software release activities.
Utilize project-planning tools to ensure timely completion of project tasks and deliverables with a high degree of quality.
Communicate with and present to senior management.
Some travel, domestic and international, may be required.
REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years IT experience with 3+ years experience in project management work with an Internet or technical business focus.
Understanding of Project Management best practices.
Proven track record of successful management of multiple large-scale projects with on-time, on-budget delivery.
Must be an expert in internet/software product/project management with the ability to implement and maintain complete product lifecycle from inception through delivery and post-delivery support.
Strong understanding of web-based product development and operations.
Experience collaborating between IT, software development, and product groups.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft software products, including MS Project, Visio, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience with Internet based development along with multi-industry client involvement.
Strong consultative, listening, communications and analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence/negotiate effectively at all levels of management and peers.
Ability to effectively translate technical information to non-technical individuals.
Results oriented, proactive and showing overall leadership quality.
Desire to work in a fun, fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills including presentation writing and delivery.
BS/BA in technology-related field.
PMP, CSM or Prince2 certification a plus.
International work-experience a plus.
Travel-industry experience a plus.
