Overview:Everyday Health is hiring! We are looking for a dynamic and highly detail-oriented Project Manager to join our rapidly growing team! The Project Manager will be responsible for simultaneously managing multiple interdisciplinary projects ranging from small-scale maintenance issues to complex new product releases. The Project Manager works closely with a variety of stakeholders -- including product managers, software developers, quality assurance engineers and network operations engineers -- to assess scope and balance product requirements with time and cost constraints while meeting quality standards.
The desired candidate must have a solid understanding of project management tools and approaches and the flexibility to lead diverse and dynamic teams in delivering integrated solutions to challenging business problems. The Project Manager must understand business drivers, possess advanced problem-solving skills, promote communication, build relationships to engender teamwork, and display composure and diplomacy under pressure.
Responsibilities:
Clarify and communicate project objectives and success criteria
Ensure key project and program-wide roles and responsibilities are defined
Structure and manage various integrated, multi-track projects and/or programs of multiple projects
Develop and track integrated project plans, including scopes of work, requirements, detailed schedules, and specifications
Develop detailed project schedules, outlining tasks and activity dependencies
Assess risk and provide solutions and back-up plans
Secure necessary reviews and approvals on all components
Manage expectations of senior management and set realistic project goals
Regularly report on project progress and identify risks, inter-dependencies, and changes to timelines
Manage budgets and resource allocations throughout each project
Establish and maintain project and/or program communications with the internal team, including executive team
Ensure the use of best practices and apply lessons learned from previous projects
Ensure a positive, collaborative work environment for the team
Research and coordinate with third party technologies and partners
Promote adoption of best practices and normalization of processes across the enterprise
Work closely with finance department to identify opportunities for cost capitalization
Qualifications:
5+ years of cross-functional online project management experience; familiarity with online content publishing a plus; Familiarity with mobile development a plus
Experience managing multiple full-project life-cycles from discovery to final delivery
Experience leading teams with multiple discipline representation
Experience presenting project details directly to executive levels of the organization
Familiarity with web-based technologies and the systems used to support major sites, including ad targeting tools, customer relationship management systems, and user analytics tools
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects of varying degrees of complexity
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines
Experience with Agile development methodologies is essential
Strong understanding of end-to-end web production process
Understanding of application of financial concepts to software development capitalization a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
Experience with Microsoft Project Server a plus
