The Project Manager is responsible for creating and executing project work plans and revising them as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. This person acts as the primary point of contact throughout the software development life-cycle, in meeting all goals and objectives set internally and by the customer, especially with respect to time, budget and scope. This person will need to have expertise in SDLC models, including waterfall and agile and associated activities required to deliver a solid set of requirements and design artifacts, and to maintain detailed and accurate documentation per all project standards.
This person will also need to have expertise in managing software development projects from inception to completion. The Project Manager will produce and automate reports providing updates for each scheduled and active project from start-date to end-date regarding overall project status and key performance results.Yes, you will be herding cats in this role, but these are some of the smartest, coolest cats in the Bay Area, working on some of the most interesting and rewarding technical challenges imaginable.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the development of business requirements along side the business development team.
Plan and manage software development projects following solid project management methodologies including Scrum.
Lend support to various business units and engineering teams as necessary during design, development and delivery to ensure solid, scalable, robust solutions.
Accurately assess the risks associated with each solution design / project.
Effectively manage multiple priorities.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Certifications:
Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in project management and business analysis with software development projects.
Preferred PMP Certification and formal training in negotiation / facilitation skills.
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
Thorough working knowledge of SDLC models and methodologies, including waterfall and agile.Strong leadership and team management skills.
Experience with requirements management methods and tools.
Proven ability to coordinate between 5-10 people from different groups and multiple projects.
Strong analytical and decision making / well-honed problem solving skills.
Keen attention to detail; ability to complete deadlines on a day-to-day basis.
Effective communication skills ? clear and concise in both verbal and written form.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Project and SharePoint (preferred).
Interest and knowledge of sports a plus.
