The employee?s time will be divided between technical services tasks and project management tasks, as the daily workload requires. Other duties may be assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Manager and Technical Services Analyst primary job functions are to assess the scope of each project and complete a project quote, communicating as needed, to BDV and the Project Management team to ensure that the client?s requests are met in a timely manner and support the project completion process through the development and use of language tools and pilot processes.
Major responsibilities will include:
Quotation of projects. This includes, but is not limited to:
Creating accurate project quotes in an efficient manner.
Maintaining a high level of understanding of current patent filing requirements in various jurisdictions as well as the specific needs of each client being served.
Communicating project information to necessary parties in a clear, concise and professional manner.
Conveying specific client requests effectively to Project managers.
Contributing to the consistent growth and development of the Park IPquotation process.
Recognizing and escalating any potential issues to the appropriate party in a timely manner
Creation and maintenance of translation tool repositories with goals toward accuracy and efficiency
Using GlobalSight to support client Machine Translation requests
File format engineering
Project pre-processing for TM/MT/Glossary leverage
Creating linguist useable translation packages
Receiving and converting completed translation packages into proper output formats
The Project Manager?s primary job function is to manage all projects, from approval through delivery, ensuring that the client?s requests are met in a timely manner, with a keen attention to quality and cost saving potential.
Major Responsibilities include:
Managing projects and maintaining responsibility for the planning, execution, tracking, delivery and closure of such projects, using Park standard processes and tools. This includes, but is not limited to:
Creating and managing project schedules from production & proofreading, dtp/quality assurance through delivery to client.
Assessing risk and employing strategic planning to minimize potential issues.
Maintaining a high level of understanding of the patent filing requirements in various countries as well as the specific needs of each client being served.
Managing project budget.
Establishing strong relationships with both internal and external (vendor) resources.
Negotiating rates with vendors, with a keen eye for cost saving opportunities.
Participating in vendor recruitment, as needed.
Ensuring all finance systems data is accurate and kept up to date.
Researching client quality complaints and mediating between the vendor and client to reach a resolution
Providing status updates to BDV rep, as needed.
Operating with a low level of support and intervention from the Director, including recognizing and escalating in a timely manner, any issues beyond their control.
Taking responsibility for personal development in the PM role by working closely with the Director on development goals rapid learning and becoming measurably more autonomous as experience is gained.
Bachelor?s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS
Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret client requests as well as effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of co-workers, managers, clients, and vendors.
Mathematical: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions. Close attention to detail.
