Project Leadership Associates (PLA) is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Software Development Practice Group. This role will work as a client facing focal point for our SharePoint development team. A background in enterprise level implementation is a key factor in success in this role. Below is a list of key attributes that will be required for this role.
Manage architects and developers in a very technical environment.
Must have managed and been involved in selling Custom Application Development and SharePoint solutions to prospective clients.
Has a well-defined understanding of the pros and cons around SharePoint solutions
Ensures project scope and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
Ensures that the developed solution successfully passes through assigned quality gates from requirement, through design/architecture, development and deployment.
Work well and foster positive working relationships with other practice groups within the organization.
Participates in presales, proposal development, solution cost and timeline estimation and other sales support activities related to SharePoint projects.
Tracks customer satisfactions on a continuous basis throughout the project. Participates on weekly status meetings with clients ensuring project, budgetary, and delivery expectations are consistently maintained throughout the project.
Develops project plans and maintains project documentations of all assigned projects.
Ensures successful project completion within assigned timelines and budgets. Maintains budget control and keeps client informed on the same throughout the project.
Set proper client expectation. Continuously ensure solution deployment, project schedules and personnel performance meets the client expectations.
Works well with highly technical personnel in a multi-cultural environment. Ensures proper management of personnel schedules and commitments.
Prior work experience as a senior developer or architect is desirable.
Strong background and knowledge of Solution Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and it?s appropriate implementation in a wide variety of environments in the mid-market.
Requirements
9+ years of experience as a technical project manager with Custom Application Development and SharePoint background/experience.
Bachelor?s degree in technology focused major.
Experience in managing multiple projects, in a matrix management scenario.
Experience in managing offshore development ? cultural familiarity, etc. a plus.
Experience working in a fast paced and demanding work environment
Hands-on experience and/or strong familiarity with the Custom Application Development and SharePoint projects.
Experience in client and employee retention to ensure repeat business for the group and other practice groups within the firm.
PMP, ITIL, or other certification preferred.
