Position Reports to: Sr. Director, Engineering
Summary:
The Project Manager leads cross-functional teams in the execution and delivery of Xcellerex product development and deployment projects. Responsibilities include providing expertise and leadership in the configuration, realization, commissioning and start-up of Xcellerex products. The Project Manager directs internal development projects from conception through product launch using the stage gate process and is responsible for meeting project technical, schedule and cost targets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
? Plans product development and customer deployment projects, which includes creating schedules and budgets, estimating resources and coordinating requirement and specification documentation preparation
? Oversees team member activities, resolves technical and logistical problems and drives schedule and budget through project execution to deliver high value results
? Guides internal product development projects through the stage gate process
? Acts as technical leader during process system definition, fabrication and testing
? Reviews sales quotes to estimate engineering requirements
? Analyzes sales orders to develop system configuration information
? Coordinates FAT/SAT tests and IQ/OQ validations
? Designs and delivers system training during commissioning and start up
? Develops processes, control systems and reports that streamline project execution and accurately measure project progress
? Maintains awareness of industry standards, new applications and design trends and integrates them as dictated by customer demands
? Assists in design development for product enhancements and new products
? Performs other duties as assigned by management
Education Requirement:
? BS degree in a related engineering discipline is required
? PMP Certification is desired
Experience Requirement:
? 5 + years of experience in product development including hardware and automation software
? Successful track record of project management
? Experience supporting production or pilot plant operations at a biopharmaceutical plant (preferably mammalian cell) and/or knowledge of upstream or downstream biopharmaceutical design and control, filtration and chromatography techniques is a plus
? A history of developing products with multi-disciplinary teams
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Proficient with Microsoft applications (i.e. MS Project, Word and Excel)
