We are currently seeking a Technical Project Manager to be a member of the Project Management group of Yorktel. The Technical Project Manager will apply his or her industry knowledge, past experience, interpersonal skills technical and administrative techniques to coordinate activities to implement visual communication solutions for York Telecom customers.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
Plans and schedules installation and subcontracting activities on systems
Responsible to act as the SPOC (Single Point of Contact) to York Telecom?s customers during project execution.
Works with internal YTC staff on design, programming and fabrication phases of jobs
Coordinates the procurement of materials, supplies and services and controls timely delivery to job site
Develops overall project plan; manages the plan and updates when required.
Keeps self, superiors and subordinates informed of progress
Maintains all records of job status, job changes, material flow and other control records and supervises the preparation and processing of reports for internal and external use
May estimate or assist in estimating projects which the company is bidding
As the primary customer contact, implements quality assurance program to continuously improve customer satisfaction
Present a professional image of Company when speaking to customers (all levels)
Develops a relationship with the decision maker of our customer
Able to walk a job site to ensure quality installation of Company products
Responsible for customer satisfaction on projects
Monitors job status and controls job costs
Provides information to determine labor and material requirements as required
Assists management in forecasting
Ensures proper job management and cost control by reviewing various reports
Monitors financial and other reports and works with other management tools to define project problems. Devises a plan of action to remedy the problem and implements plan; all to assure project profitability
Ensures time sheets are accurately filled out, complete with job numbers, phase codes, times adds up, hours are correct, time sheet is signed and turned in on time.
Responsible for coordinating all internal and external tasks to deploying video and multimedia service projects
Ability to handle several large to mid size accounts as well as several additional smaller ones simultaneously
Responsible for conducting internal and external kickoff meetings for projects and establishing project schedules
Responsible for interaction with all Operations departments including, Purchasing, Accounting, Engineering, Production and Logistics for the successful execution of each project.
Support and assist the Sales team on project timelines and RFP responses as requested
Interface with vendors as necessary.

Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent industry working experience in Project Management, Engineering, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field is desirable.
5-10 years of experience in Project management field. Has a strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals necessary to implement AV systems.
Experience in the following areas is highly desirable: Audio Visual Solutions including Videoconferencing, Multimedia, Distance Learning, Facility coordination or Networking systems.
Extensive use of business computer systems including Microsoft Office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Project.
The candidate must have the ability to travel as required. Will require regular site visits to customer location(s)

Knowledge of York Telecom policies and procedures
PMP and CTS Certification desired
Additional Requirements:
May require occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
Requires extensive sitting, standing and walking Limited weekend and/or night work may be required
Domestic travel requiring multi-night stays within and at times outside the local work area
International travel may be required
Valid U.S. driver?s license is a requirement and must have a positive driver?s abstract.
Current valid U.S. Passport is desirable.
Ability to pass background checks and drug tests
Must be willing to apply for security clearances, suitability, and other related clearances to be able to work at certain customer locations
