About the Job
The Proposal Manager will develop and manage the Grid Management business unit?s proposal development process. The selected individual will lead, coordinate and oversee proposal development teams in multiple geographic locations throughout the U.S. and organize and support writing, editing and production efforts in response to requests for proposals, sole source engagement, requests for qualifications and oral presentations. The Proposal Manager will also be responsible for documenting activity in Nexant?s Client Relationship Management (CRM) system to track proposal and business opportunities. This is a contract opportunity.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide turn-key management and production of company business unit proposal development.
Manage development process of RFP, RFQ, RFI and Sole Source engagements: managing information flow, coordination of marketing plans/designs, and delivery of final products to clients.
Work with functional organizations (engineering, business support, marketing, etc.) to create templates for standardized offerings and boilerplate content for use in future proposals.
Prepare proposal development schedules, identify needed personnel, and delegate responsibilities as appropriate to deliver high-quality proposals on deadline.
Work with multi-disciplinary teams to identify and reinforce strategic direction and sales themes in proposals and qualifications materials.
Develop and execute a post-proposal debrief process to incorporate ?lessons learned? in future pursuits.
Update CRM system to standardize and reinforce processes.
Work with management and marketing teams as technical writing expert to create a variety of collateral and sales tools including data sheets, proposal layouts, etc.
Assist with development and maintenance of firm?s marketing materials, including project sheets, resumes, firm overviews and other business development materials.
Assist with editing and proofreading text and graphics.
Bachelor?s degree required (BA or BS) in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism or related field.
Minimum of six years experience developing and managing proposals and marketing strategies required.
Background in marketing and communications for technical-based, engineering companies and/or knowledge of Power Systems a plus.
Minimum 5 years technical writing experience preferred.
Experience with developing Federal Government proposals a plus.
The qualified candidate will also demonstrate the following:
Extensive experience in all aspects of developing, planning, and maintaining marketing strategies in response to RFP/RFIs.
Superior time management and organizational capabilities, including the ability to accurately benchmark project length, deliver on deadlines, and manage a high-volume workload.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; works well with other functional groups, and can communicate effectively with all levels of the company and external business partners
Strong consensus building skills; must be a self-starter, highly organized and creative. Polished presentation and interpersonal skills.
Advanced to expert knowledge of and expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
