Client Services Ferndale, WA, United States The French Editor reviews dozens of press release submissions daily from France and the U.S., assists PRWeb customers with their press release distribution needs and offers premium writing and distribution services for an innovative, direct-to-consumer press release newswire.
Editor must be fluent speaking and writing French, but will work out of Ferndale, WA. PRWeb offers 24/7 editorial service, so some shifts include nights and weekends. Duties include working with copy and with customers; writing and editing of news releases; and helping customers navigate PRWeb's online site.
With minimum supervision, the French Editor:
Edits press releases written in French for spelling, grammar, clarity, accuracy, objectivity, inoffensive material, etc. in images, links and content
Formats, approves and scores press release for the quality of the news content
Provides general customer service, sales and marketing assistance on a wide range of topics through online Salesforce, LiveChat, incoming phone calls and incoming e-mail messages
Performs Editorial Services including Revision, Drafting and Premium SEO services, providing different levels of editorial assistance and consulting
Consult customers by phone, chat, helpdesk and e-mail for editorial holds and other content-related issues
Contact, consult with and submit press releases on behalf of PRWeb customers through PRWeb or Vocus
Follows PRWeb?s mission to delight every customer and to find ?best possible outcome? for everyone
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
MUST be Fluent in writing and speaking French
Bachelor?s degree in journalism, PR, communications, English or related field or equivalent experience writing or editing for a news, publishing or public relations organization
Strong writing, editing, researching, proofreading, organizational and problem-solving skills
Experience researching and writing news stories, features stories and/or news releases for a wide audience
Experience copy editing for format, grammar, clarity, etc.
Knowledge of the public relations and/or press release industry and of basic news values for a successful press release
Ability to coordinate, organize and prioritize multiple tasks
Experience and ability problem-solving and working with the public on customer-service level
Proficiency with multi-tasking on a computer, using Microsoft Word, Web browsers and e-mail
Proficiency in Internet research
Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) a plus, but PRWeb will train
