Job Description:
WideOrbit needs an extraordinary PR/Communications Manager to help us build visibility in the advertising marketplace the technology and business press. WideOrbit is focused on a 2012 IPO and has historically had a very low profile, so we need someone that can drive industry and media coverage highlighting WideOrbit's amazing innovation and technology. The right person for the job will take initiative and develop a comprehensive PR and communications strategy. Leaning on your existing relationships and tremendous charisma , you will build relationships with key journalists and influencers to drive awareness and communication of WideOrbit's solutions and successes.
Responsibilities:
Writing core messaging documents, brochures, press releases, award and speaking submissions and media briefings, and various marketing collateral.
Spearhead the development of a corporate strategy for driving awareness and visibility using a corporate blog and Social Media outlets.
Develop customer success stories, quotes and testimonials
Help ensure a consistency of Corporate Identity in all internal and external communications
Track and report on all media coverage, and PR and communications activities
Manage PR/Communications budget both internally and with external PR help.
Who We Hope You Are:
You are a motivated and sharp self-starter. You're resourceful and challenge yourself to do things better than they've been done before while enjoying an empowering work environment.
You have a compelling personality and communication skills, as well as solid writing skills. You have developed strong relationships within tech media.
You've spent at least 5 years in media relations within a public relations agency and/or a software company
Hands-on knowledge of all PR processes and pitching stories is your forte.
You'll be excited to use your experience in social media including all the usual suspects: Twitter, Facebook, blogging and social networking.
Other qualifications you should have:
Bachelor's degree required, an emphasis in communications, journalism, PR or marketing preferred
Knowledge of the broadcast television industry a plus
Experience in high-growth, fast-paced technology company strongly preferred
Location:
This position will be based in San Francisco.
This position could be part time for the right person who has extraordinary contacts and experience but would like to work part time to balance family/work needs.
Compensation:
The compensation range is flexible and will depend upon the experience. Please feel free to submit salary requirements. This position will offer medical benefits and stock options.
