Summary
Mashery is looking for an extraordinary Public Relations Director/Manager with experience in SaaS and B2B offerings to lead and execute on all public relations strategies and programs. We are a well-funded, fast-moving start up with a growing-like crazy base of customers and a great story to tell. We believe in and value the power of PR and are searching for the right PR executive to make that magic happen. As Mashery expands globally youll develop, execute, and drive strategic, results-oriented PR initiatives. The right PR Manager for us is someone who is capable and confident talking strategy with the CEO, but is also willing to pick up the phone and push an agenda forward. You should be passionate, creative, and willing to take a risk to execute unique PR initiatives that provide Mashery with greater visibility and set us apart from other companies and competitors. Oh, and you like to have fun and feel comfortable wielding the mighty potato masher.
The Role
Partner and collaborate closely with executive staff, strategy, marketing and product teams to align PR strategy with business objectives and corporate strategy.
Define PR strategy and own plan to execute.
Help develop messaging hierarchy for company and products.
Foster relationships with key press and influencers; maintain regular contact as well as outreach for specific initiatives.
Manage analyst relations program including monitoring/negotiating contracts and uncovering new opportunities; as well as regular communication and updates with key analysts.
Oversee company spokespeople roster, training and messaging.
Provide media training and coaching to teams as needed.
Support all phases of product launch publicity through press releases, media relations, social media, events, collateral, and other PR initiatives that reach enthusiastic and appropriate media (print, online, etc.)
Research, write, and edit all press materials including press releases, supporting material, and presentations.
Respond to daily media & press inquiries in a timely and professional manner; working with appropriate internal teams to craft appropriate responses.
Develop methodology for tracking PR success.
Report regularly to company and leadership team on press activities, coverage, opportunities, successes and press feedback.
Plan, budget, and review PR initiatives regularly.
Evangelize and elevate success stories through traditional channels such as press/events as well as online channels (blogs, communities) to varied audiences including customers, press, and analysts.
Skills to succeed/Requirements
7+ years public relations experience, mix of in house and agency would be ideal.
Public relations agency experience and agency management experience required.
BA/BS in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or comparable.
3+ years work experience in SaaS or applicable software or technology industry with experience in B2B communications.
Strong planning and project management skills with the ability to work well under pressure and able to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently in a highly dynamic startup environment.
Professional in representing the Company and able to adjust to various styles of communication and various audiences.
You collaborate well and bring forth ideas, yet are comfortable with not always having the final say (although you will have a lot of say).
Passionate about customers, partners, and a strong desire to be part of a passionate team to help grow a business, not punch a clock.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify key metrics, manage to such metrics, assess and report on ROI/results.
