Job Overview:
TripIt drags traveling kicking and screaming into the 21st century. TripIt turns all your flight, hotel and rental car confirmation emails into an awesome itinerary just by hitting forward. Then your master itinerary can be accessed from anywhere -- on your laptop sitting on the couch or in your hand running through the airport. And that's just the start -- we can help you share plans with friends, find you a refund, watch your point balances, and alert you when your flights change.
Reporting to the Director of Public Relations, the PR & social media associate will bring energy, ideas and relevant experience to TripIt?s fast-moving communications team.
Responsibilities:
Who: You will stay in lock step with the ?who?s who? of travel, tech, business, and lifestyle influencers; as well as TripIt brand advocates.
What: You will be on the lookout for opportunities to ?help a reporter out,? as well as a keeping a pulse on what?s making news and trending in social.
When: You will be responsible for identifying relevant news cycles, events, speaking opportunities, awards, and editorial calendars.
Where: You will know the top media outlets and social platforms intimately, and where frequent travelers congregate for tips and tricks.
How: You will write content that entertains, educates and elicits action from media, influencers, the TripIt community and your colleagues.

Position Requirements
Education, Experience & Training required:
2 years of public relations and/or social media experience with consumer technology or lifestyle brands.
Writing samples that align with TripIt?s brand personality.
Top tier media hits, with compelling stories of how you secured them.
A knack for measurement and reporting, internally and externally.
Ability to pass a background check.

Exceptional communications and writing skills; typo is not in your vocabulary.
You?re a news junkie. You consume online, print and broadcast media like it?s nobody?s business. The Economist and E! News count, equally.
Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Google+ are your BFFs.
