Job Description:
The Publicist works closely with a diverse group of authors, in-house publicists, publicity vendors and freelance publicists to provide effective, long-term publicity services. The Publicist has oversight over the fulfillment of all publicity campaigns and products offered by ASI. The Publicist will also act as a publicist actively pitching the media for a select group of authors including VIP and Premium authors. Responsibilities include providing efficient, professional follow-up with members of the media, writing press releases and marketing materials, inclusion in new product development, communication with ASI departments including Sales, Production and Editorial and other duties as assigned.
DUTIES:
Primary Duties:
Accountable to the Traditional Publicist Supervisor
Initiate phone and email contact with media members, pitch print, radio, tv and online media for authors.
Draft press releases, media pitches, press materials, occasional ad copy.
Mail/order review copies and other materials, designing press kits.
Works to maintain information data warehouse of author issues and communicates status as required.
Conducts and assists in the planning of publicist training (career development) and Marketing Consultant training on publicity products.

Minimum 2-3 years of PR experience
