Purchasing Agent Project Leadership Associates

Project Leadership Associates (PLA) is looking for someone to take on the technology purchasing of our consulting practice. The Purchasing Agent will work closely with our consultants to work out purchasing strategies and process for our clients. In addition, this role will lead the creation of PLA?s client license renewal practice. This is an ideal point of entry role for candidates who seek a career path in accounting, sales, marketing, human resources or consultancy.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Obtain and present competitive bids for purchase requests.
Manage return process of IT purchases.
Perform necessary data entry to ensure proper AP and billing systems are used for purchase payments.
Ad hoc purchase-related projects.
Understanding of IT hardware functionality is preferred but not required.
Current knowledge of IT hardware trends is preferred but not required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience (accounting or business).
Business majors a plus.
2-5 years of IT purchasing experience.
Experience in IT and/or help desk role are well suited.
Ability to manage high volume and competing priorities.
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to take responsibility and complete ownership.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
