Education
Minimum of an Associate?s Degree in Business Administration or other related field. A Bachelor?s Degree is preferred (Supply Chain Management).
Minimum of 5 to 10 years experience in Supply Chain Management in a manufacturing related organization.
Must be proficient in Word, Power Point, and Excel.
Microsoft Project, Access, and implementation of an ERP system a plus.
Personal Characteristics
Requires excellent interpersonal and communications skills as well as good planning and organizing skills.
Person must be assertive and able to identify delivery problems and present solutions to management.
Attention to detail and ability to follow up is critical.
Has the ability to work flexible hours; ability to work in a time-sensitive, deadline driven environment.
Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving.
Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and/or in a cross-functional work team environment.
Must have a thorough understanding of Supply Chain Management (Order-to-Cash Fulfillment Cycle).
Principal Area of Responsibility
This position will be responsible for supporting the development, deployment and enhancement of the Company?s plan for Supply Chain optimization. Main areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, administrative and functional duties of Production and Inventory Control including the communication of production scheduling with suppliers. Responsible for playing a vital role in the accuracy and timely turn of inventory; Sourcing and procurement of inventory items, tooling and supplies in a JIT environment; maintaining records of supplier transactions for inventory items; providing costing support for new parts.
Specific Duties
Negotiation of supplier contracts for component costs, delivery and quality.
Create and release purchase orders and supplier schedules for production inventory items, miscellaneous inventory items, production supplies and tooling, and service inventory.
Review open purchase order commitments and make the necessary adjustments to support customer delivery requirements and inventory level objectives.
Establish and maintain good supplier relationships. Resolve supplier concerns involving pricing, delivery dates, supplier rating, etc.
Maintain an approved supplier list.
Source and evaluate additional vendors as needed for new and existing components.
Monitor and minimize purchased price variances on all production components.
Implement the engineering revision process in Purchasing by changing revision levels on purchase orders and monitoring inventory levels on parts being charged to minimize scrap.
Provide costing support for Sales and Engineering for new components.
Provide logistical leadership to ship and receive product from worldwide locations, landing inventory at a customer site within a defined window as needed for timely assembly.
Provide constant communication between vendors and facility staff to ensure smooth delivery schedules to meet requirements.
Define and review plant safety stock levels of system COGS as well as miscellaneous hardware used in prototype builds.
Assist Quality with the evaluation and certification of new vendors. Assist with vendor assessment program to evaluate the performance of suppliers as necessary to support TS16949 record retention procedures.
Assist with physical inventory.
