Purchasing Coordinator Sportvision
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Want to use your organization and planning experience to help streamline our purchasing process? We?re looking for a Purchasing Coordinator who will work closely with our Accounting, Operations, and Manufacturing team. Your responsibilities will include all aspects of researching best prices for computer components used for our systems, creating and seeking approvals for purchase orders, and being the liaison between departments for all vendor inquiries. You?ll assist Accounting with invoice approvals, tax verification, and proactively correcting any invoicing errors. You?ll be involved in defining the work as well ? not all the questions come with answers provided ? so comfort operating in an environment of ambiguity is a must. This position reports to the VP/Controller.
Responsible for planning, developing, and buying materials, parts, supplies and equipment in a timely and cost effective way; while maintaining appropriate standards and specifications.
Establish preferred supplier selection criteria based on supplier evaluations of price, quality, delivery, terms, and certifications.
Develop relationships with suppliers in order to resolve delivery and quality concerns.
Draft bid specifications, request bid proposals from vendors and administer contracts for major purchases.
Order materials and services as per negotiated and appropriately approved.
Expedites purchase orders by identifying or resolving vendor or shipping discrepancies.
Assist the Accounting department in developing and implementing purchasing strategies for products.
Perform Purchase Orders and item maintenance transactions in the internal accounting system.
Review and verify past due PO reports and contact suppliers to address overdue PO?s.
EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE:
Minimum of 1-3 years of related experience with purchasing, planning, or logistics.
Ability to understand technical concepts and ideas and adapt quickly.
Solid verbal communication skills, as well as comfort with interfacing with suppliers.
Experience and aptitude in negotiating pricing and terms.
Data gathering, problem solving, and analytical skills.
Strong organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, e.g. Excel, Word.
Capable of working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
Must work independently and proven experience working well on team projects.
Peachtree, inventory databases and/or related ERP system experience preferred.
Assist in the maintenance of the Bill of Materials (BOMs).
Sales tax experience preferred, but not required.
Bachelor?s degree preferred.
