This position is responsible for developing and maintaining company-wide purchasing initiatives in conjunction with strategic goals and objectives of the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in price negotiation, planning, quality control, and contracting in a health care setting. The position will focus on cost containment, by ensuring that products and services are ordered at the lowest possible cost, achieving on time delivery to clinics and corporate departments, without jeopardizing quality of care. This position will be responsible for continued vendor improvement process and is ultimately tasked to maximize purchasing power throughout the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Champions the values and builds the culture to support the goals of CDI while fostering an environment where customer service is a priority
? Set, deliver and maintain procurement strategy which includes presenting plans to resource, develop, and deploy necessary products/services
? Responsible for recommendations, sourcing and development of new suppliers and technologies.
? Achieve improvement in procurement performance by delivering year to year cost savings and long term recommendations.
? Create key statistics for procurement process, track and report key metrics with the implementation of a supplier improvement process
? Management of contract negotiations, renewals, and terminations
? Manage company spend by ensuring that products/services are contracted at the lowest possible cost while fostering customer service as a priority.
? Works directly with internal customers to define specific needs and requirements.
? Solicit bids, place orders, and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products/services
? Other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.

? Minimum 5 years work experience in Purchasing.
? College degree preferred.
? Healthcare knowledge and experience preferred

? Highly organized with a strong attention to detail. Good problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization skills.
? Clear and concise verbal and written communications for a global audience; ability to influence/persuade a diverse group of people in innovative ideas/concepts; ability to negotiate effective agreements with suppliers.
? Good interpersonal/customer relations skills; good presentation skills.
? Excellent computer and technical skills, especially Excel, and proficiency using various software systems
