Inphi Operations and Engineering Purchasing Supervisor
The Purchasing supervisor will be responsible for leading the procurement responsibilities associated with R&D / Engineering materials, hardware, CAD, and tooling spending. The candidate should possess strong supplier management, proven contract and pricing negotiations experience, along with knowledge of diversified and complex commodities and engineering tools.
Additional duties / skills for this function will include but not be limited to:
Take the lead related to the procurement process for R&D activities.
Read and understand technical specifications. Acquire and maintain technical understanding of products purchased.
Work closely with all levels of Engineering to aid and to define requirements. Engage with Engineering at the beginning of the development process to understand the requirements and offer up solutions within the most optimal scope associated with the company?s goals and objectives.
Excellent negotiations skills.
Ability to interface effectively across organizational and geographic boundaries
Demonstrated effective communication, presentation, negotiation, planning, organization and facilitation skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment.
Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.
Develop sourcing strategies where new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate.
Conduct market research, benchmark, and any other actions to effectively manage potential new and existing suppliers.
Must have knowledge of CAD tools, software, test and calibration equipment.
Understand qualification and approval processes for components and new suppliers.
Negotiate high dollar contracts and agreements
Suggest and introduce cost-saving measures and stimulate our suppliers in the optimization of their projects. Cost reduction focused with demonstrated history of achievements in sustained cost reductions in support of corporate cost objectives.
Monitor the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontractors to assure highest quality at best value.
Perform supplier business reviews and audits, carefully monitor the KPIs of the suppliers in close collaboration with our quality department. Strong experience with supplier performance management and reporting in working with performance metrics, performance score-carding and supplier review.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Fast moving environment, high energy, and able to work on multiple projects
BS in Business or Engineering degree strongly preferred
5-10 years? procurement experience of complex engineered components in an R&D environment.
Strong excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills. Proficiency in all MS Office application.
Experience working with Oracle or other major integrated ERP system.
