Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking an experienced Quality 3D Inspector, to join our growing team in Mississippi. This position requires an action and results oriented individual who can effectively achieve demanding development and production goals. This individual must also be able to interact and communicate at all levels of the organization.
With minimum supervision performing dimensional and visual inspection for in-process and final acceptance of aircraft vehicle composite components using drawings, CAD models, specifications and manufacturing process documentation to verify conformance to design requirements of workmanship and conformance to specifications, schematics and blueprints
Specific Responsibilities:
Requirements are to be interpreted from design / process drawings / models, procedures and specifications. Products to be reviewed will be primarily composite molded components / assemblies but may also include sheet metal details and machined metal components.
Creates and performs inspection operations for Model Base inspection utilizing CATIA files and PC-DMIS software for stationary coordinate measuring machines CMM and portable PCMM Romer Arm equipment. Analyzes data from these inspection operations to provide result reports and non-conformance reports as required.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, military and industrial specifications / standards; a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance per ASME Y14.5M and Y14.41
Maintain quality departmental documentation, in written and computer formats, supporting inspection, certification reviews and nonconformance reporting.
Coordinate corrective action with operations, purchasing, production control and liaison engineering.
Participate in company internal audits and support customer audits as required to support quality management system goals.
Performs other tasks as required by General Manager or Quality Manager
Supports management in assuming all safety regulations are met and maintain safe working environment
Maintains a neat and orderly work area and supports the company FOD program
Supports other Aurora Flight Sciences sites as required
Minimum Requirements (education and experience):
High School diploma or equivalent is required; associate degree in a technical discipline preferred. Industry experience applicable to the position will be considered in lieu of associate degree.
programming and conducting dimensional inspections using CMM and PCMM equipment - strong preference for PC-DMIS and CATIA software including basic CAD skills related to import/export of file formats supporting these devices; other formats may be considered based on industry experience and product type, standard precision measuring equipment surface plate / 2D height gage layout, calipers, micrometers, functional gages, etc, visual inspection techniques, basic shop math, geometry and trigonometry. Experience in Aerospace or MRO Industry highly desired.
Experience with Laser Tracker systems and optical scan systems desired, Leica preferred.
Proficiency in verbal and written technical communication, and able to work from written or verbal instructions; basic computer skills PC with proficiency in MS Office software

Physical Requirements:
Ability to working within a manufacturing environment and able to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds as well as consistently stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb and kneel.
Shift Requirements (specify if irregular work hours or shift work will be required):
7AM-3:30PM however maybe required to work any shift and/or overtime in order to support production demands
