SourceMedical is currently seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst for its Surgery Division in Branford, CT.
Summary of Position:
As a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst, you will be a key member of the Source Medical QA and Testing team with the overall responsibility for assuring that the Surgery product meets the company's quality standards. You will be responsible for planning and coordinating the validation efforts of various Source Medical applications, both in manual and automated test environments, through demonstrable application of solid QA methodologies and other applicable knowledge.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate ability to work independently, exhibit strong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as demonstrate attention to reporting accuracy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Working closely with business analysts and developers to ensure complete understanding of business requirements.
2. Developing test cases to ensure all business requirements are met.
3. Executing functional and regression tests.
4. Reporting potential application problems and performing follow through to resolution.
5. Assisting with the automation of smoke tests.
6. Performing root cause analysis on all post QA reported defects and implementing corrective action to ensure continuous improvement of our processes and products.
7. Establishing test environments and troubleshooting environment configuration and installation problems.
8. Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.
--BA/BS degree in Computer Science with 3+ years of demonstrated QA and testing experience
--Test case development experience
--Good knowledge of basic test techniques (positive/negative testing, interface testing, database testing, etc.)
--Basic knowledge of test phases (integration/functional, regression, system)
--Test tool experience (Mercury Quality Center, Mercury QTP, etc.) desired but not required.
--Experience with automated test creation using QTP is desired but not required.
--Understanding of databases
--Experience in validating effectiveness of user experience of application
--Thorough understanding of basic software development life cycle and the concept of quality before design (QA isn?t just test execution)
--Effective team lead and the ability to communicate effectively within a variety of staff levels
--Knowledge of electronic payment and X12 is a plus.
--Knowledge of Team Foundation Test manager is plus.
--Relevant healthcare knowledge preferred
