Alert Logic is hiring for a QA Automation Engineer with hands-on experience testing distributed or client server applications in a Linux environment. In this role, you will work closely with our development and product management teams to ensure that the various network security products delivered perform as specified in the functional requirements and technical designs.Alert Logic sits at the nexus of two of the hottest trends in IT: the adoption of cloud technologies and increased security and compliance requirements driven by an increasingly connected world. Responsibilities:
Work in a fast paced Agile environment testing SaaS based distributed applications
Create detailed test scripts that provide explicit execution steps and expected results
Work with product and development teams as well as offshore QA resources to ensure test cases/test scripts appropriately cover testing needs
Execute tests and capture outcome to evaluate: validity, accuracy and reliability of results
Evaluate design, requirements, and coding for compliance with standards
Track defects, found during testing efforts and manage them through re-test cycles
Assist in production implementation testing
Required skills:
3+ years of experience in a testing or QA role
Strong automation experience
Hands on experience testing distributed or client server applications
Strong familiarity with Linux
Experience with UI, API and backend testing
Working knowledge & experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, etc)
Knowledge of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Experience with test management and defect tracking tools
Basic experience or understanding of at least one programming language (C++, Java, Ruby, etc)
Preferred skills:
Previous work experience in a SaaS (Software-as-a Service) environment
Experience administering and troubleshooting Linux environments
Experience developing, scripting and executing performance (load and stress) tests
Experience with formal test plan, approach and strategy documentation
Experience creating and generating executive level metrics
Familiarity with trend and phase analysis
BA/BS degree preferred
