The Quality Assurance Automation Engineer will be primarily responsible for authoring and managing numerous QTP test cases to support critical product delivery. The QA Automation Engineer will work with the Product team as well as other teams to resource, plan, develop, and execute both system-level and component-level testing.
As a key member of the QA Engineering team, you will:
Read and become familiar with product specifications and identify test cases to cover usability, functional, and regression testing;
Support test lead to identify risks and to develop mitigation strategies;
Plan and coordinate work activities to ensure completing of tasks and projects;
Develop test plans based on test strategy and product needs;
Create and execute automated test cases using HP QuickTest Professional v11;
Working closely with developers, the Support team, and Product Marketing to resolve defects;
Effectively communicate testing activities and findings in verbal and written formats.
Candidates must be lawfully and fully (without restriction) employable in the United States either by virtue of citizenship or by having authorization from the Department of Homeland Security and the US Department of Labor.

Required Experience
Strong HP QuickTest Professional v11 skills, with a minimum of 2 years of work experience regularly authoring QTP test cases;
Record/playback/throw-away test cases are not to be considered;
Extensive use of the Web add-in protocol.
Strong organizational experience with managing 500+ automated tests and corresponding test assets: script workflow and organization;
Works well within a framework that extensively functionalizes test components:
Extensive use/maintenance of Object Repositories and resorts to Descriptive Programming occasionally;
Extensive creation/use/maintenance of reusable action/functions;
QTP's API for:
Mass updating QTP script steps
Automation scheduling of overnight runs
Usage of Recovery scenarios is preferable.
Strong VB Script skills are a must, including extensive use of the CreateObject function and how that extends maintainability of framework/tests.
HP ALM (formerly Quality Center) v11 skills are a must:
Extensive utilization of the Test Plan, Test Configurations, Test Resources, Test Lab, Defect modules within ALM;
Some experience with OTAAPI for extending automation;
Some experience with reporting and the Dashboard & Releases modules;
Some experience with versioning/baselines of test assets.
DOM skills are a must, including some experience with DOM to access and read/manage/manipulate HTML documents;
SQL skills are a must, including extensive utilization of SQL (select) in order to effectively test SQL databases;
XML & xPath skills are highly preferred, including extensive utilization in order to effectively test XML responses;
Experience with JIRA systems is preferable;
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar preferred.
