SugarSync is seeking a QA Automation Engineer for our platform/server systems with a sharp eye for detail. As a key technical contributor on our QA team, you will implement and execute our automated test suites. You will also work closely with Engineering (platform development) to functionally test new and existing infrastructure components, as well as diagnose customer and operational issues. Key responsibilities include:
Extend and enhance SugarSync?s automated test tools and overall coverage for platform server components, Web UI and Desktop clients
Document/maintain test procedures and records
Perform hands-on testing for backend server components/applications and customer/operational critical cases
5+ years of experience in the software industry (QA and/or Development)
5+ years of testing/debugging distributed systems
3+ years of test automation experience, including white box testing (Java and/or C++) experience with Windows, Linux and Web applications, as well as experience in performing server side and API testing
Understanding of code written in C++ and Java
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
Able to catch improper error handling, buffer overflow, data corruption, and limitations in code
Familiar with open source development and testing tools, ie Jmeter, JUnit/TestNG, SoapUI, Maven, Selenium etc.
Able to work directly with Engineering, Operations and Product Marketing teams
Strong communication skills (verbal and written), well organized, self-starter, strong attention to detail, flexible, resourceful, able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, quick intellect, natural curiosity, mentoring and multi-tasking skills
Education - BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
