The Quality Assurance (QA) lead Engineer is responsible for increasing the quality of product enhancements performed within client contracts and defined scope written under signed Statements of Work (SOW). Preparing and Automating QA Functional/Load Scripts during build cycles, building test cases, testing product customizations and enhancements, reporting bugs and providing feedback to Project Managers, Developers and Product Managers, where appropriate. S/he is a self-motivated individual who can work well with internal and client organizations to maximize the quality of delivered solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Test and report bugs on code and implementation specific to client's enterprise use cases.
- Analyze complex requirements and use cases for the purpose of developing test plans and test scripts
- Develop well-written test plans and test scripts
- Execute test cases and write defect reports as appropriate into the defect-tracking tool
- Execute regression test cases when development loads point releases into Test Environment
- Take direction for additional software testing responsibilities as required by the QA Team
- Provide internal support to Customer Support, Product teams, and Client Services whenever required
- Perform QA functional testing of a CMS Web application
- Grey, black and white box testing
- QA mobile functional and automation testing
- Familiar in implementing a QA automation framework from scratch
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree
- 4 to 7 years experience working with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including 3-10 years working in software testing quality assurance field, and 3-5 years' experience in Automation Testing
Additional Requirements:
- QA experience with Web-based CMS applications
- Specific experience working with or working knowledge of software test case execution, and defect report writing, automation scripting
- A working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Familiar with Linux
- Familiar in using QA automation tools (QTP, Selenium or any open source tool). Able to pick up an existing QA automation framework, implement new QA tools for automation.
- Browser compatibility testing experience
- Experience in working closely with Product and Development teams
- Very detailed in reporting bugs using JIRA or similar bug-tracking tool, updating test matrix, and creating test cases. Excellent in QA test planning and regression test plan strategy
- Quick ramp-up of learning an enterprise CMS System
- Able to lead projects
- Familiar with Agile/Waterfall process
- Experience in manual testing of mobile applications
- Experience working with offshore QA teams
- API testing experience a plus
- A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and verbally
- Ability to thrive in a teamwork environment
- Self-starter mindset
- Desire and ability to effectively multi-task across projects and responsibilities
- Desire and flexibility to learn new applications and project functionality as project schedules dictate
