As a Quality Assurance Engineer in the Consumer Electronics group at BitTorrent, you?ll be responsible for testing all of the applications that BitTorrent produces for Consumer Electronics devices. These applications currently include uTorrent for Linux, the uTorrent and BitTorrent Web User Interface, BitTorrent for Smart TV, BitTorrent for NAS. Testing will be performed on a variety of devices based on either flavors of embedded Linux, or Android.
Specific responsibilities include:
Designing and executing the testing methodology, test plans, and test cases (most testing will be black-box testing, however experience with automated testing would be desirable)
Defining the threshold of quality for all releases
Managing the entire release process, from the version revision to the archiving of delivered product
Acting as the knowledge base of quality for all products and releases
Managing the code branching strategy
Ideal candidates will posses a strong combination of the following experience:
Bachelor?s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or equivalent experience
2+ years experience working as a QA Engineer
Proficiency in Linux a must. Familiarity with Android would be a plus
Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages a plus
Familiarity with shell scripting and regular expressions also a plus
Familiarity with with git or other SCM
Agile experience is a plus
