Description:
You need to be a hands-on QA engineer and will be working with other experienced QA engineers to design, create, document, implement and maintain test scripts and the test framework. You should be self directed, team and process oriented. This position requires lots of initiative and willingness to work long hours and also to remain flexible in a very dynamic environment. You will need to identify missing test cases and refine existing scripts for modularity and automation purposes, estimate and prioritize work for optimal risk mitigation and identify suitable regression suites. You will have the opportunity to work with a smart, talented team of developers and quality assurance engineers on the BigMachines application, using the latest web technologies. Your core responsibilities will include:
Duties:
- Work with development team to develop test plans, test cases and QA strategies.
- Complete assigned test cases and test plans in a timely fashion.
- Participate in all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, load and system testing.
- Responsible for high quality of assigned projects from software Quality Testing through final User Acceptance Testing.
- Perform both black box and white box testing of the BigMachines applications.
- Follow team processes and standards.
- Work with QA team members, software developers and system and database administrators to trouble-shoot test failures in the various test/customer environments. This may include trouble-shooting database issues, reviewing server logs, etc.
Qualifications:
- A Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related software engineering discipline, or equivalent
- Experience using QA tools and techniques, bug tracking systems, test design and execution
- Experience testing web applications
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to work constructively with developers, QA, Systems and Project managers towards a common goal
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Unit Testing Automation frameworks, such as Junit, HTTPUnit, etc
- Experience with XML/XSL/Web Services
- Experience with Unix and shell scripting
- Experience with web application servers, such as Tomcat and Web servers such as Apache.
