QA Engineer Intern Instructure
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED We hire bright, talented people. All engineers contribute to the product in a meaningful way. The product team doesn't throw specs over some imaginary wall to engineering, and engineering doesn't throw code over some imaginary wall to QA. We all collaborate together; you know, the whole agile methodology thing.
Most of our work is open sourced, even our primary product (http://github.com/instructure). We are changing how teachers and students interact, whether in small groups or with tens of thousands of students in one course. Check out our online courses at canvas.net.
We?re adding QA engineers to our development teams to work in a collaborative, casual work environment.
There are lots of interesting, complex, and challenging problems that will leverage your skills; oh, and new things come up every day.
We're not big fans of traditional job descriptions, so...
Here are some things you will do:
Execute manual test cases for mobile apps and web applications.
Work with the QA team and other departments to ensure the execution of test cases.
Help maintain test cases; this will include helping to keep them up to date with changes to the software and keeping their format consistent.
Skills & Requirements:
Ability to solve problems.
Attention to the smallest detail.
Strong communication skills (yes, we had to put this one in here).
Ability to work with little oversight (can you handle that?)
Highly preferable skills: Candidate majoring in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other computer technology related field.
There will be a technical interview with lots of white board action (but no silly puzzles or trick questions).
Fully stocked break room. Equipment provided. That's right, you get a MacBook Pro (and we'll even throw in a desk and chair). Just saying.
We participate in eVerify. EEO.
