QA Engineer Scivantage

This QA Engineer position will work on multiple, concurrent projects testing complex website and enterprise applications. Responsibilities include creating test plans, reviewing requirements documents, developing and execution of test cases, comparing requirements to development, and reporting results and status to the various project teams. The QA Engineer should be a results-oriented team player, who is committed to delivering quality products and applications to the end-user. The ideal candidate for this position has extensive experience in automation testing, particularly using Mercurys Quick Test Pro. Additional experience with Performance testing tools is required. Also he or she should have experience in financial markets, and a strong technical background. The candidate should be able to apply their experience (both financial and technical) to improve our testing practices. Experience in software testing especially in the financial market industry and the ability to understand and anticipate the needs of our customers is essential.

Requirements/Qualifications 3-5 years of professional Information Technology experience with at least 3 years, or more working in the QA/Development environment. Extensive hands-on experience with automation tools such as QTP is a must.

- BS/BA or equivalent work experience.
- Experience setting up and designing an automation framework for QTP and the ability to discuss this in detail
- Experience creating new automation scripts, as well as running and editing existing scripts.
- Experience with VBScript
- Experience with Performance testing tools.
- Detailed familiarity with QA methodologies.
- Experience and evaluation of test automation tools.
- Must be very detail oriented and have strong problem finding, resolution, and documentation skills. Possesses excellent communication, written, and organizational skills.
- Have strong self-motivation, work ethic, and teamwork mentality with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
- Familiarity with financial information industry software.
- Ability to rapidly absorb new concepts - either technological, or industry related.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Working through the entire software development life cycle from a QA standpoint
- Analyzing functional and technical specifications on a wide range of applications
- Ability to also Write and execute test cases (manual)
- Using automated testing tools to change the QA process
- Experience testing multi-tier network applications (database/application logic/presentation).
- Must have the following testing experience: standard functionality, regression, system, integration, and ad-hoc along with good debugging skills.
- Should be able to manage and create test plans for multiple, concurrent projects.
- Must be able to closely interface with business units as well as development teams.
- Should be comfortable working in an agile development environment.
- Must be able to work and stay focused in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Must be able to work well individually as well as with a team.
- Must be verse in Microsoft Windows OS Systems, and MS Office Applications.
- Must have knowledge of Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers, others are a plus.

Pluses:

- JUnit experiance
- Working knowledge of SQL and data modeling within various DB environments (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
- Experience with MAC OS.
