QA Engineer Data Robotics
OverviewThe QA engineering position is a hands-on role working with Drobo?s cutting-edge storage technology. The person in this position will have
an active role in the day-to-day execution, planning, development, and sustaining activities of manual and automated test development
and testing of SAN, NAS, and direct-attached storage arrays.
Responsibilities
Understand the technical aspect of the Drobo product-line
Understand test requirements and formulation of test cases
Set up lab and configuring test beds
Be accountable for the testing quality from start to finish, including editing and maintaining test strategies, converting test strategies into test plans,
executing test plans, and evaluating test results
Develop test plans for both sustaining and new-product development
Communicate progress and escalate issues to management in a timely manner
Develop/debug test scripts written in perl
Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field
Programming and automation skills with Perl or equivalent automation technologies
Technical understanding of SAN, NAS, or DAS storage technologies
Hands-on experience in functional, system, performance, and interoperability testing
Knowledge of network configuration, test infrastructure, and test case development
Knowledge and hands-on experience with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of MS Windows, Mac OS X, and Unix/Linux
Solid experience using test management, defect tracking, and source code management systems
2+ years hands-on Quality Assurance experience
Highly Desired
Strong understanding of RAID concepts and/or virtualization technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V, XenServer); certification a strong plus
Experience with TestLink, Jira, and Subversion applications
Hands-on experience with native GUI testing in Windows or Mac OS environments
Experience with embedded environments such as VxWorks and Linux
Experience with system bring-up and troubleshooting
Experience with test tools such as Wireshark, JetStress, QuickBench, IOMeter, and Medusa (MLTT)
