QA Engineer InfoMedics
Job Description / Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Create, execute, and maintain test cases using different methods of black box testing or functional testing (Usability testing, Acceptance testing, Regression testing, and System tests).
Create automated functional tests
Perform exploratory testing
Tracking and documentation of defects/enhancements.
Reviews new or modified software, including documentation, diagram, and flow chart, to determine if program will perform according to user request and conform to guidelines.
Ensure high quality and accuracy is maintained through to software release.
Provide feedback to the development team and ensure the work is carried out in accordance with the schedule and the quality requirements.
Review team members? test cases for logical and/or technical errors
Where possible, identify possible effective usage of test automation to enhance group productivity and scope of testing performed.
Stay current on changes in industry and government requirements.
Reviews help systems, manuals, release notes and other documentation for technical accuracy.
Performs various team assignments, as required, to help the Quality Assurance Team accomplish its goals and continuously improve operations.
Skills & Attributes
Knowledge of practices and types of software testing
Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium
Knowledge of the Application Development Life Cycle
Experience in database testing and creating and executing SQL queries
A commitment to quality and a thorough approach to work
Ability to effectively coordinate tasks and activities with others in a productive manner.
Experience working with onshore/offshore teams
Ability to work as a team member
Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally). Specifically, the ability to clearly describe complex problems and technical concepts which can be understood and effectively used by others.
Time management skills
Experienced in the planning and execution of a test plan.
Qualification & Experience
Bachelors or equivalent degree
4+ years experience in software quality assurance
Sound knowledge of software testing methodologies and procedures
Good communication skills and a team player spirit
Excellent verbal, written communication skills and analytical skills
Good to have
Software Testing certified
Knowledge and previous experience in scripting / programming languages
Brainbench or ISTQB certification in software testing
3-5 years experience required
Compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience
