Description
Varolli is looking for a dynamic QA professional to serve as a QA Engineer within our Professional Services organization. This position requires close interaction with other members of the Professional Services team, our clients, other QA engineers, our Sales and Sales Engineering teams, and other internal groups.
Responsibilities:
Test customized applications that contain non-standard components and features that have no clear testing process or test case libraries associated with them. The features themselves will be documented but it will be the responsibility of the QA II to work with more senior team members to create a testing strategy.
Proactively work to ensure that projects are delivered on time.
Ability to identify potential risks and roadblocks and interdict them before they impact the delivery cycle. The ideal candidate has a track record of completing projects on time regardless of the circumstances.
Possesses strong communication skills and is able to succinctly and clearly communicate project statuses and defects with minimal needs for clarification.
Ability to function as a project lead, overseeing the testing activities of the other participants in a project. Responsible for communicating project status to the project manager and other non-QA team members. The project lead will also ensure that the project is delivered on time and that no coverage gaps exist between the testing responsibilities assigned to each of the testing team members.
Able to estimate mods and other small changes to applications. In addition, a QA II can function in the role of ?mod lead,? by managing the mod project queue and estimate queues. He or she is able to proactively reach out to other team members for work assignment to ensure the mod backlog doesn?t become excessive.
Has a moderate understanding of Quality Assurance theory and is actively and enthusiastically interested in advancing their understanding in the area.
Makes very effective use of their time. Not only are they able to communicate their availability, they actively pursue other project and work opportunities. This includes working on training, documentation, or assisting other team members in their projects when no billable work is available.
Requirements:
Fluent in English (Fluency is Spanish or French is a plus)
Able to work in a Unix/Command-line environment and is able to navigate relational databases
Possesses a technical aptitude and learns quickly.
Understands programmatic logic and can perform simple code inspections.
Able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Able to communicate clearly and concisely and possess the ability to understand technical and functional documents.
Must be a team player with a positive attitude who takes pride in their work.
Must be a person who possesses a passion for quality and has a clear interest in advancing their career in the quality assurance field.
3 or more years of experience in the Quality Assurance field.
