QA Engineer / System Administrator BlueStripe Software

As a growing application management business, we need to expand our Engineering team's capability in cross-platform testing/support. As such, we'll be adding a QA / System Administration professional to our ranks.
The QA engineer will report to the VP of Engineering.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Analyze existing and proposed products/technologies to identify and document test cases
Execute manual tests against the system and record results
Identify opportunities for automation in our testing processes
Leverage a working knowledge of application and systems administration to assist in building out test lab environments
Leverage a working knowledge of virtualization systems to build and maintain a dynamic test environment which can be brought up and torn down as required
Contribute to the bug-find/fix process by generating detailed bug reports and, when appropriate, contribute fixes, documentation updates and/or validations of provided fixes
Assist in the growth and development of our Engineering team by collaborating with team members -- both within QA as well as across the broader Engineering organization -- and sharing knowledge from your areas of expertise
QUALIFICATIONS:
A degree in Computer Science or related field and/or significant work experience in the computer industry
Experience working closely with software engineers very early in the development cycle to identify test requirements, environments, and opportunities for early testing
Proven and demonstrable abilities in multiple scripting languages (e.g., shell, Perl, Python, VBS, etc.)
Deep knowledge of systems administration in any of the following OSes:
Linux
Solaris
AIX
Windows
Work experience in a software product environment is strongly preferred
Experience administering and/or testing enterprise applications, web servers, application servers, middleware servers and/or databases is strongly preferred
Testing experience with network/systems/application management tools/frameworks
A strong IT aptitude in networking and network troubleshooting
Testing experience with VMware ESX, Xen, KVM, or Hyper-V preferred
Successful start-up experience preferred
A self-starter mentality and ability to work unsupervised
