QA Intern nCircle Network Security

TechStart Program:

The nCircle TechStart Program is an 18 - 24 month program geared toward entry-level technical positions at nCircle. It is intended for very smart, motivated, college graduates with technical degrees who possess solid technical knowledge and the ability to learn the particular unique technology used at nCircle. Members of this program are responsible for delivery of content-related work throughout our product suite as well as other functions. The specific components of nCircle's products and services that are delivered by our TechStart engineers are subject to change over time and are available to both part-time and full-time positions.
Overview:

Our Alpharetta software engineering team is looking for a part-time (20-29 hours per week) intern with experience and expertise with Windows and Linux OS configuration, IP networking, scripting language programming, and a strong interest in a career in a software engineering organization and IT security. The successful candidate will have an ability to learn quickly and the motivation to gain experience with world-class commercial software development and quality assurance. Responsibilities will include setting up test systems, configuring networks, running manual software tests, writing test scripts, and generally assisting quality assurance engineers and software engineers as needed.

Our ideal intern candidate, and past successful interns, is a current college undergraduate studying Computer Science or a related field at a local university that is looking for real-world experience for 1-2 years. nCircle has a history of bringing our top performing interns on in full-time roles following graduation.
Specific Responsibilities:

Installation and configuration of lab machines and virtual systems (racking machines, OS installation, network configuration, etc)
Configuration of lab networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls)
Testing nCircle's commercial security software products and appliances - running manual tests, writing testing scripts, recording test results, filing bug reports, etc.

Required Skills

Linux administration
Windows administration
Router/firewall administration
Programming expertise in at least one language (Perl, Python, PHP, C, C++, C#, etc.)
Experience, involvement, or strong interest in computer security a strong plus
Excellent verbal and written skills
Ability to be a team player in a fast paced environment
Takes responsibility for the quality and timeliness of their work
