QA Lead EngineerWaltham, MA
Care.com is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Website functional Testing, Test Automation and website performance testing and a strong desire to work on both. It is expected that the candidate's time will be evenly split between Website functional testing, Automation and Back office Testing.
Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage QA team of (3+ members) project tasks and support offshore testing activities and also participating as individual contributor.
Excellent people skills, time management skills and ability to take responsibility for deliverables
Collaborate with the Product Management, QA and Development team members to identify and clearly understand business requirements and functional design documents
Strong individual contributor with an ability to design, executes, and analyzes website functionality and also contributes at the team level for the overall release schedule.
Proactively identify and diagnose website, database and performance issues.
Work progressively towards improving QA process for efficient delivery
Skills/Experience Requirements:
Solid understanding and experience with SQL. Ability to write, executes, and analyzes SQL queries. MySQL experience is a plus.
Experience in testing multi-tiered applications developed using Java/J2EE related technologies
Experience writing functional test cases for both front-end and back-office functionality
Hands on experience of working with one or more test automation tools such as QTP, shell scripting
Ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environments as project requires.
Hands on experience with one or more of the following application servers: Jboss, Web Logic, Web Sphere
Hands on experience with one or more of the following databases: MySQL, Oracle RDBMS, MS SQL Server, DB2.
Education/Other Pre-Requisites
BA/BAS in computer science or related field
8+ yrs of overall QA experience
1+ yrs QA Lead experience specifically in handling team of (2-3 members)
