Job Description
The Quality Lead, Special Projects, is responsible for the management of the QA resources assigned to a specific, focused project. The lead will supervise staff that performs coding audits for the purposes of adherence to Precyse quality and compliance standards. This individual is responsible for management of client resources in a manner that ensures company mandated and client requested audits are performed accurately, timely and that the results and education are provided as appropriate.
This individual is also responsible for direct supervision of quality specialists assigned to the project, coordination of their work product, and preparing educational materials with additional responsibility for facilitating or providing training/educational offerings to remote coding colleagues and client as needed.
Responsibilities:
Serves as direct supervisor of all quality colleagues placed on project
Interviews and places new quality specialists into the appropriate work role
Leads and coordinates coding quality audits for client
Ensures that QA for new hires/new clients is completed by qualified individuals
Coordinates all payroll functions, scheduling and day to day supervision of the quality team
Serves in team leadership capacity with supervisors and project manager
Acts upon QA results and works with QA team if progressive discipline is required
Assumes direct responsibility for daily QA workflow
Develops and deploys QA policies and procedures in coordination with client
Acts as trainer and subject matter expert on hospital processes and systems as needed
Supervises and coordinates the delivery of QA results in response to client QA needs, thus maintaining compliance with client and company expectations
Serves as the coordinator for client and colleague corrective action plans and/or responses to client concerns about coding quality
Supports project manager in the preparation of client QA deliverables
Acts as front line QA management support to Project Manager and Director, Remote Coding Operations
Serves as a second-level liaison to client, providing daily status reports, updates and other project critical information to all levels of management, both client and Precyse
Perform other duties as deemed necessary to ensure continuity of services and enhance productivity

Requirements
RHIT or RHIA plus CCS required
Ten years of production coding with experience in all patient types including inpatient, ambulatory surgery, and evaluation/management coding
Five plus years of coding or HIM management experience
Three plus years of active auditing experience
Must be exceptionally detail oriented and have the ability to work independently
Computer knowledge of coding systems and MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Must display excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to write detailed reports with subsequent management review
Commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current and changing regulatory requirements related to coding and compliance
Customer service focus and demonstration of professionalism, flexibility, dependability, commitment to excellence and commitment to the profession
AHIMA ICD-10 certified training (preferred)
Previous consulting experience (preferred)
Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, pathophysiology, anatomy and physiology, as well as ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-PCS and CPT classification systems
Ability to travel to project site as needed
