Financial trading systems seemingly grow more sophisticated by the day. In the Middle Office Technology team, we work with the front-office trading system team and with our internal support staff to build best-in-class systems for clearing and settling trades. All of our software is built on top of Liquidnet?s modern technical infrastructure and makes heavy use of open source projects. We will invest in your education through internal training and provide a budget for you to attend conferences. You will have an opportunity to participate in enterprise-wide initiatives that improve the software engineering profession at Liquidnet and beyond.
In this position you will be responsible for manual and automated testing of web-based and API-based tools for the Middle Office Technology stack. You will work with highly skilled and motivated technologists who are encouraged to think for themselves and to try new and innovative solutions to problems. You will gain insider perspective on Wall Street by working for a small firm with a unique value proposition and dedicated customer base.
Executing creative, powerful context-driven tests to explore software under development
Developing automated tools to support your testing efforts
Communicating actionable information to stakeholders about the software under test clearly
Working with customers, developers, and business analysts to continuously improve the product, your tests, and the software development process
Experience using Selenium or similar web testing framework to write automated tests.
Experience writing software to solve real problems using a modern, object-oriented language, such as Python, C++ or Java.
Knowledge of SQL (preferably Oracle).
Knowledge of configuration and use of Linux-based server.
Demonstrated experience jumping in to a project and testing with very light documentation.
Demonstrated experience thinking outside the box and rapidly adjusting to changing circumstances.
Passion for exploring new test techniques, technologies, and approaches.
Experience writing automated test cases.
Experience testing Python / CherryPy-based web applications.
Experience with Scrum or Agile development.
Development of production-quality software using Python or C++ languages.
Knowledge of financial services, especially clearing, settlement and the FIX protocol.
Experience with exploratory testing, context-driven testing, test charters, and Session-Based Test Management.
Familiarity with current topics being discussed in testing or development blogs, magazines, literature, and conferences and participation in the overall software development community.
