Description:
This individual is responsible for evaluating customer returned Sofia instruments and in-house Sofia instruments and assisting in complaint investigations. This individual is responsible for performing instrument triage and problem diagnosis. This individual will support commercialization of the Sofia instrument by providing technical support for customers, determining the failure mode for instrument complaints, and determining whether instrument problems are covered by manufacturer warranty, necessitating return to manufacturer. Analysis of field issues will also be used as feedback to R&D/Engineering for potential instrument upgrades or product improvements (hardware, firmware, software). ? Perform functional and diagnostic testing of returned instruments from the field. Decontaminate and ?wipe? patient data from instruments. Perform instrument triage and determine if instrument needs to be returned to LRE as covered under warranty or for repair. Working with instrumentation engineers, develop flow charts, procedures, and decision trees for instrument diagnosis and triage. ? Perform complaint investigations in conjunction with QC Chemistry. Collaborate technical failure analysis investigations and identify corrective actions to preclude recurrence. Provide call support to Technical Service team to assist in solving customer issues with instruments over the phone. Provide Tech Services feedback to ensure the troubleshooting guides used for customer issue resolution are updated. ? Establish and maintain instrument lab. Ensure instrument tracking logs are maintained. Develop metrics for MTBF and other instrument reliability measures. ? Support new product development/product improvement projects.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent work experience 1-3 years experience in an instrument lab or manufacturing environment.
Instrument diagnosis experience QSR & ISO-9001 laboratory experience Understanding of integration between software, firmware, and hardware for analytical instrumentation
Sound mechanical and electrical skills
Technical troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis
Good communication and computer skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high pace and dynamic working environment
