Summary:
QC Scientist is responsible for the Quality Control Testing with main focus on Octet Instruments and Octet Consumables as needed. The QC Scientist performs an initial evaluation of performance, analyzes Quality Control data and reports test results and observations to QC Manager for product release. The QC Scientist must develop a very detailed understanding of the instrumentation and consumables in testing and the applied QC tests. The QC Scientist performs the product testing independently without supervision and does an initial critical evaluation of the product performance. This person will summarize, track and communicate testing results. The QC Scientist will continuously evaluate the implemented testing methods and initiate further development of test methods to improve characterization of product performance and to make testing more time and cost efficient.
Accountabilities:
Quality Control Testing of Octet Instruments to generate instrument inventory for Sales
Quality Control Testing for finished goods inventory of Octet Consumables and other product lines as needed
Performance evaluation of Instruments/Consumables and data analysis to report test results
Tracking of performance data and failure modes as well as trend analysis
Setting of product specifications and generation and maintenance of documentation required throughout the QC process for testing and product release
Maintenance of existing Quality Control protocols and documentation
Development of new Quality control procedures and documents for new product lines
Cross train on QC procedures for all PALL products manufactured in Menlo Park
Responsibilities:
Perform QC Testing
Analyze experimental data and prepare documentation required for product release to Finished Goods Inventory
Clearly communicate and document test results
Investigate product performance in detail with R&D, Engineering and Manufacturing department
Present performance data and investigation results
Generate and maintain QC documentation
Maintain databases for performance tracking
Maintain inventory of materials needed for QC Testing
Instrument setup and maintenance of equipment required for QC testing
Qualifications:
B.S. in Life Sciences
Minimum 2 years of experience working in Quality Control in the Biotech, Biopharm or Diagnostics Industry
Experience in Binding Assays for Quantitation and Kinetic analysis a plus
Knowledge in Cell Culture a plus
Experience with Excel and data management a plus
Competencies:
Good laboratory and technical skills
Ability to follow SOP?s very diligently
Ability to work in a team
Good verbal and written communication skills
Must be well organized, flexible and able to multi-task
