We offer a suite of products that assess reading comprehension, writing skills, English language proficiency, and content area knowledge.We have an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Analyst at our corporate office in Apple Valley, MN. The Quality Assurance Analyst supports the Sr. IT Quality Assurance Analyst (Sr. IT QAA) to uphold and continually improve Questar?s quality assurance standards and processes, validates developed applications and systems in support of business operations and ensures QA project activities and deliverables are completed on-time and on-budget. This position will report to the QA Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborating with the Sr. IT QAA, IT Business Analyst (IT BA) in reviewing and clarifying the scope of delivery and business requirements for the application being tested or customer deliverables
Contributing to defining a test approach/strategy for the application or customer deliverable
Assisting in authoring the Test Suite - test scenarios and test cases traceable to requirements in order to validate the application or customer deliverables
Preparing the test data for approved test cases
Test execution of business applications, online applications, document processing capability, and reporting deliverables
Validating data and reports using SQL and other tools
Identifying, documenting and tracking issues found during testing
Coordinating with developers and project team members to triage and resolve issues
Escalating risks that will directly impact project timelines and deliverables to the IT BA
Assisting in deployment verification of applications or customer deliverables
Participating in weekly project team meetings
Updating status of assigned project tasks and time reporting duties
Participating in functional area meetings
Working closely with Sr. IT QA on prioritization of tasks
Ensuring quality and on-time delivery in all assigned work
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor?s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or technical area, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
At least 3 years of QA and testing work experience
Strong experience and applied knowledge of Quality Assurance and testing best practices
Thorough understanding and working knowledge of different types of testing
Aptitude in reconciling testing requirements with business requirements
Strong experience on Waterfall, Agile/Scrum and other software development methodologies
Proficient in Database concepts and testing using SQL with Microsoft SQL Server or other database platforms
Concise and effective written and verbal skills to communicate with other professionals, including IT BAs, IT Developers, and other project stakeholders
A positive and flexible individual with a successful history of working in a fast-paced, client-focused, and dynamic environment
Passion for quality and great attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Certification such as CAST, CSTE or CMST
Knowledge and hands-on experience in test automation frameworks, processes and tools (Microsoft VSTS, Selenium, HP, IBM)
