The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst works with other members of the Connecture project team to deliver high quality web-based sales solutions for the health insurance industry.
The Quality Assurance Analyst works with the QA Lead and/or Sr. QA Analyst to ensure that the software and supporting documentation complies with documented requirements, business rules, operating procedures and development standards.
The Quality Assurance Analyst candidate must possess strong problem solving and communication skills in addition to having a customer-focused mindset and an understanding of the importance of accountability and attention to detail. This position reports directly to the Senior QA Analyst on smaller project implementations and to the Lead QA Analyst on large project implementations.
The direct promotion path for a QA Analyst is Senior QA Analyst.
Roles and Responsibilities
The essential responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Analyst are to:
?SDLC (Connecture Methodology) Compliance
?Demonstrate accountability in all assignments
?Work effectively in team environment, requiring minimal supervision
?Communicate and interact daily with other team members to gather information and proactively resolve issues
?Develop and execute manual test cases for smoke, functional, system, and regression testing to support the implementation of Connecture's software solutions using web-based technologies
?Review requirements and design documentation in order to identify and develop test cases and to provide feedback to the project Consultants on documentation quality
?Work with the team and the QA Lead to become knowledgeable of Connectures product functionality and to gain an understanding of health insurance practices and processes
?Identify and report software defects and testing metrics
?Participate in peer test case reviews
?Understand and utilize SDLC compliance, checklists and processes
?Complete all project related tasks and ensure on time delivery of high quality project deliverables
?Participate in on-going, pre- and post-project quality reviews
?Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, Business, or Communication (or equivalent experience)
?3+ years testing experience with internet/web application, client/server application, and system implementations using manual and automated testing tools
?Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle (Waterfall) and Agile
?Able to create and maintain detailed test cases
?Must have tested RDBMS applications and be able to write and execute SQL queries to test data
?Technical background in testing web applications (ASP w/VBScript, ASP.NET w/C#, COM+ w/VB 6.0, .NET Framework w/C#, Java, HTML, SQL and XML/XSL running on Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Windows 2003 platforms)
?Knowledge of automated testing tools ( Selenium preferred)
?Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Excel
?Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate and share solutions with fellow team members
?Effective written and verbal communication skills
?Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills for sharing information and resolving problems across project team members
?Able to work independently and to adjust to changing priorities
?Responds strongly and positively to challenging work and deadlines
