Quality Assurance and HES Compliance Manager American Aerogel

Position: The QA/HES Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring capable and stable production processes in terms of safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The position requires a background in chemical and industrial processes, as well as health and environmental safety standards. S/he will work closely with colleagues across a number of functions, gaining a multidisciplinary experience in a challenging, exciting, and fast-paced environment.
Tasks:
Quality Control
? Maintain and evaluate quality documentation.
? Perform and/or coordinate customer audits and internal quality investigations.
? Implement corrective action processes derived from product and process audits, from internal quality investigations, or from customer complaints.
? Evaluate and approve changes in production processes in cooperation with product engineering and systems support where applicable.
? Monitor and improve performance of production processes with respect to line balancing, cycle time, uptime, ergonomics, and quality including calibrations and repeatability checks.
? Calibrate equipment and instruments.
Health, Environment and Safety
? Assure that American Aerogel Corporation complies with applicable government health, safety and environmental laws, regulations, and standards
? Conduct safety and environmental training and orientation
? Review injury and property damage reports
? Direct environmental compliance projects related to hazardous wastes, air permitting, water pollution control, and community right-to-know programs
? Recommend the purchase of safety equipment and supplies
? Develop controls for identified hazards. Coordinate the implementation of controls from results of hazard analysis. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate work place accidents and injuries
? Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position
